Bathtub glass doors in El Paso
Many El Paso homes have a combined tub and shower in at least one bathroom. Glass on the tub keeps the floor dry and opens up the room, and we can connect you with a local installer to quote it.
Three ways to put glass on a tub
Sliding tub doors run on a track along the tub ledge and give full access from either end.
A fixed splash panel covers part of the opening and leaves the rest open, which is simple and easy to clean.
A hinged tub screen swings out of the way when you need to reach in to bathe a child or clean the tub.
Bathing children or pets
Sliders can make it harder to lean over the side of the tub, since a panel is always in the way.
If you bathe small children, a hinged screen or a partial panel usually gives better access.
Measuring a tub opening
Most alcove tubs are about five feet long, but walls are rarely perfectly square, so the installer measures at the top, middle and bottom.
Older tubs with rounded edges may need a special track or seal, which is worth mentioning in your request.
Questions
Can a tub door be installed on an acrylic or fiberglass tub?
Usually, yes. The installer will check how the surround meets the tub and use fasteners and sealant suited to that material.
I rent my home. Can I still get a quote?
You can request a quote, but you will need the owner's written permission before any glass is installed.
We do not publish prices, because every opening is measured and quoted by the installer. We are a referral service, not an installer.
